Residents of Asutsuare, Akuse and nearby communities in the Shai-Osudoku District have staged a peaceful protest, demanding immediate government action to address worsening development challenges in the area.
The demonstrators are particularly concerned about the poor condition of roads, which they say is making movement difficult and affecting the transportation of farm produce.
They are also calling attention to the decline of the local rice market, with farmers and traders reportedly facing difficulties marketing their produce.
The residents are therefore appealing to the government and relevant authorities to rehabilitate the major roads and take steps to revive the local rice industry.
According to the protesters, urgent intervention is needed to protect livelihoods, support farmers and improve economic activity across the affected communities.
