WAEC said the release comes after investigations into reported irregularities during the conduct of the examination.
*Sanctions:*
The Council announced that the *subject results of 7,434 candidates were cancelled* for bringing foreign materials, including prepared notes, textbooks and other printed materials, into the examination halls.
The *entire results of 861 candidates were also cancelled* after they were found in possession of mobile phones in the examination halls.
In addition, *subject results of 957 candidates and the entire results of 270 candidates have been withheld* over various suspected offences.
WAEC further disclosed that *subject results of candidates from 169 schools have been withheld over alleged collusion.* The Council said these cases remain under investigation and the affected results could either be released or cancelled depending on the outcome of investigations by *October 30, 2026*.
*How to Check Results:*
WAEC said the provisional results have been hosted online and heads of schools will be given access to enable them to check the results of their candidates. Candidates who wish to check can do so at the Council's website *www.waecgh.org*.
Candidates whose results have been cancelled or withheld have been directed to visit the Council's website and click on the "Withheld/Cancelled" button to be redirected to the "Irregularity and Investigations" portal to find out the reasons and the next steps to take.
*Warning on Scammers:*
The Council cautioned candidates, parents and stakeholders to be wary of fraudsters who promise to upgrade results for a fee, stressing that WAEC's database is secured and all results can be authenticated.
