President John Dramani Mahama has denied reports suggesting that the Ghana Education Service (GES) is introducing Arabic or Chinese as compulsory subjects in the curriculum of public schools across Ghana.
The President said the reports are false, clarifying that there is no new government policy requiring public-school students to study either Arabic or Chinese.
The clarification follows reports circulating on social media about an alleged change to Ghana’s education curriculum.
President Mahama has therefore urged the public to rely on official information and disregard the misinformation.
